Itchy Knees, Spots On Arm. Are They Scabies?

Hi, I recently moved to South Carolina from Michigan. On the drive here, I knelt in some grass and my knees began to itch severely. I assumed the grass just made them itchy and that it would pass quickly because when I was younger, I would roll down grassy hills and develop itchy marks all over my body and then they d be gone in an hour or less. This time, however, they stayed on my knees for about four months and then disappeared for a month or so. They have recently reappeared along with random itchy spots on my legs that began as mosquito-bite looking. There are also a spot on my arm . There were also spots near my inner thighs that were incredibly itchy, but went away after a week or two. I am wondering what this could be, They don t really seem to itch at night more as scabies would. They itch more when I take a steaming bath. When I itch some of the spots on my legs, other itchy spots appear almost instantaneously. Please help!

Dermatologist 's  Response
hi from this description it seems to allergic dermatitis due to grass .you got sensitised to it when you were younger. now on rexposure to the grass they appeared again
it doesnot seem to be scabies as it is aquired from an infected person or bed and linen of that person
other itchy spots appear when you itch indicate that this may be urtidaria which may be due to prior sensitisation .
any type of itch decreases with cold and decreases with heat exposure so itching increases during steam bath.
Short course of oral steroids is advised after doctor consultation.
scabies cant be ruled out so examination by doc is advised
