Itchy Spots On Butt, Near Penis Due To Liver Problem. All Tests Normal. No Relief With Medication. Solution?
Around 3 weeks ago, I started having tiny red itchy spots on the butt and near penis area (not on it), that used itch badly and persistently at night. itching was lesser during the day. After going to a family physician, I was told it had something to do with the liver, and that liver problem caused itching. But tests (SGT,SGPT, Saline alkaline phosphate) were within normal levels. There was a liver medicine prescribed that I took for 4 days, nothing happened to the spots. And the doctor ruled out scabies. Now I m off the medication, but along with the tiny spots there are bigger mosquito-bite like spots on the penis and the scrotum and on the butt, that itch even more severely. There is slight itching on the lower legs, and one or two spots under the armpits too. Help required

It seems that you may be having prurigo simplex. The cause would internal disease..probably liver disease. In prurigo, night itching is characteristic feature. As the scabies is ruled out, prurigo simplex is most likely diagnosis. Anxiety and stress might exacerbate, so be mentally cool and reduce stress. Avoid soap bath. You may use dettol liquid for bath. Apply crotamiton cream combined with steroid cream daily at night till you get good result. Take antihistaminic like levocetirizine 5 mg in morn. and hydroxyzine HCL 25 mg at night. Short course of steroid in tappering dose would enhance the result. Continue treatment for liver disease. I hope you got my answer.
