Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've been on Vyvanse for about 5months now and I noticed after about a week or so on them that my scalp started to get scabs and they would become itchy and I would scratch and scratch at them and they would scan over and the cycle would repeat. They are all over my scalp and I can't seem to stop myself from picking at them once I start. I have some major ones on the top of my head and some small ones on the left front by my forehead and some elsewhere on my scalp as well. I don't know what is causing it if it is the Vyvanse. I've had ADHD for as long as I can remember and was one Concerta and Riddiline growing up and picked like arm scabs and such but never to this extent, then when I became pregnant at 17 I stopped them and just started again beginning-middle of May and now I am obsessed and I don't know what to do! The Vyvanse really help me focus but I have also notice I've become very anal about sorting pens(I have coloured sharpies and fine tip markers) by colour and using them in order for home studies and writing down information ( I'm 24 now) I have no Idea what to do! Everyone says just don't pick but honestly I go absolutely mad until I can pick the scabs ever though it leaves my nails bloody and my scalp in pain and in a literal bloody mess as well! Help! I just got a new doctor and she prescribed a cream to put on but it doesn't help when I can't stop picking! I've never been this way before.
