Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've have a small split/cut on the tip of my tongue caused by injury as a kid. As it wasn't a big injury I didn't receive medical attention as i didn't alert my parents (I was one of those kids that braved bruises and didn't think anything of it). Over the years it has healed on it own and for various reasons I've been unable to look into this issue until now (went to see professional). It does bother me and has held me back in terms of speaking confidently and it does irritate at times when my teeth brush against the tip of my tongue. Im being referred to a specialist but have been told by a professional that closing the cut/split could be tricky and unlikely. Is this true. I'd hate to think that I have to live through life in this discomfort and concern. Any feedback would really help me prior to my specialist appointment. Thanks in advance.
