Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Just had an afp test. It is 6.5. Study said higher than 6.1 is a concern. Going for ct scan. I have been diagnosed 2 years ago with cirrhosis from fatty liver. My liver is a 9 on the liver scale according to my dr. I am age 50. The dr before said I might need a liver transplant in 20 plus years. My concern is how accurate is this test for cancer? Can it be affected by other conditions like diabetes causing it to increase? I am also having problem with a kidney stone at this time, could it affect this test?
