Knee Injury, Deep Wounds, Swelling And Joint Pain. What Can Help Healing?
Hello Sir, My mother had injury in her right knee 2 months back. Basically, she got cut in her knee with deep wound, I got her treatment with the doctor, it only required 9 stitches at the wound and the docctor told me that it was just minor injury but it had not affected any damage to he tendant. Now, after two months the wound has cured but there appears slight swelling in her muscles and sever pain in her knee joint . kindly advise any further suggestion. Does it requires MRI scanning since the X-rays are showing normal. Thank you.

Hello, Thanks for writing to us
Some swelling, redness, and pain are common with all wounds and normally go away as the wound heals.
If your wound was accidental, be sure to ask if a tetanus booster is needed. Treatment of accidental wounds may include taking an oral antibiotic to help prevent infection. Be sure to take the medicine until it is completely gone. Do not stop taking it just because the wound looks like it is healing well.
Contact your provider if you see any signs of infection.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
