Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Knee Injury, Unable To Bend, Painful Joint, Unable To Walk, Redness, Swelling. Help?
I obviously injured my knee during basketball but it is difficult to determine how serious it is. I landed on it poorly and it somehow twisted under my body weight. My symptoms include Difficulty bending Pain in the back of the knee and some pain on the left or outside of my knee. I can put my whole weight on it but it is difficult to walk because of the trouble bending. There does not appear to be swelling or redness.
It is very hard to tell how serious were the knee injury without physical examination and an X-ray. There might be only soft tissues injury, sprain or some bone fracture (kneecap for example). Fluid can accumulate in the joint as well.
That is why I suggest you to visit orthopedist, have physical examination and an X-ray of this knee.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
