Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Knee Pain, Purple In Color. Did Light Running, Bending. Is This Due To Bruising?
My knees have turned purple and have been like this for 4-5 days. At night my right knee pains me if I turn certain ways causing me to wake up. Last week I did some light running and then bent down and pushed up with me knees I believe causing pain in my right and left top part of my legs (thighs). I am in my 50's. Could this just be bruising? Thank you.-Joey N.
HELLO Joey Purple knees are indication of bruises in the joint space or the overlying skin, you are advised to have a routine Xray done to rule out any blood collection in joint space.
Till then you are advised to avoid heavy activities like running and exercises from the affected limb.
