Knee Pain, Swelling. Had Surgery For Minescus Tear In Knee. Taking Vitamin Tablets
Hi - I was told by my Dr. to take 4 tablets - 1000 - vitamin d3 daily for a deficiency in Vitamin D. I had surgery for a minescus tear in my knee 2 1/2 years ago. It seemed to be healing fine. Almost no pain in my knee. When I started taking the Vitamin D3 daily my knee started hurting and it is now swelling. Could I be taking too much vitamin D3?
I have studied your case. No vitamin D will not lead to pain
At your age most common cause of knee pain is osteoarthritis. I will advise you if possible do X ray of knee and you can consult me with reports or with your doctor.
Another possibility of knee pain can be due to meniscusinjury ,which can be confirmed by clinical examination and if required MRI. Till time take analgesic and apply knee support.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
