Knot On Back Of Head, No Bruise Or Redness, No Pain. Is It Serious?
My 2 year old has a knot on the back of his head and hasn t had any injurious that might have caused it. There is no bruising or redness suggesting maybe he fell in someone else s care. It is hard like bone and does not move with the skin or hair . I ve pushed on it for reaction and it doesn t seem to give him any pain. How do I know if this could be a sign of something serious?
As per your history it looks swelling of soft tissue or bony benign swelling. As swelling is not reducing I will advise you to further investigate for the cause of swelling. I will advise you to do MRI and CT scanUltrasound of the swelling. If its collection or benign mass it can be excised.
So you may need blood investigation. Till time you can take anti-inflammatory and antibiotic if infection is suspected.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
