Lactating Mother Suffering From Myasthenia Gravis. Feeling Weak. Wysolone Advised. Will It Affect The Baby?

Hello sir, I am 26 years old female. I have Myasthenia gravis since 9 years. Now I am married and have a 4 months of child. I am breast feeding to my child now I am feeling very much weakness so I want to start Wysolone 10 mg. Could it be safe for my baby? What are its side effects on me and my baby if I will take it for next 4-5 months?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

Wysolone contains prednisolone.
It belongs to corticosteroids.
And it can pass through the breast milk.
So usually its use in lactating mother is contraindicated unless there is specific and strong reason.
So you once discuss this possibility with your baby's pediatrician and follow his advice.
