Large Lump Over Adams Apple. Ultrasound Shows Abscess. Taking Clyzamin, Not Getting Better
I went to the emergency room of Saturday since I had a large lump right over my adams apple that appeared in a matter of 5 or so minutes. It first was the size of a marble then the following morning it grew to a very larger marble. The ulta sound they gave me show most likely an abcess so they gave me a clyzamin (spelling) its a step above augmentin. It not getting any bigger but it's not getting better either. What do you think it is or recommend ?
I am Dr Sriram Nathan an ENT surgeon and I shall try to help you out with your problems.
If it is confirmed as an abscess then you are in the right track of taking anti biotic medicaition.
But if the swelling or the pain is not getting better then you must consider taking injectable antibiotic in consultation with your doctor.
Also you may wait for about four to five days for the swelling to improve, if not then you must go for an FNAC which will confirm the abcesss and also point to the sensitivity to the treatment
take care and get well soon
