Large Lymphoma, Fatty Tumor. Had It Removed. On Augmentin. Ultrasound Revealed No Blood Clot Or Abscess. Will Swelling Reduce?
My son had a large lypoma or fatty tumor removed 2 weeks ago. He has internal and had external stitches. Last wednesday went to dr. And pa put him on augmentin 875, removed stitches and placed steri strips on incision. Went to internist on Friday because of horrible swelling and pain. Ultra sound revealed no blood clot or abscess. Steri strips fell off yesterday. The swelling has gone down but not totally. The incision is still open. My question is, he is supposed to fly back to his place on Friday which is his last day of augmentin. Should he be free of swelling and incision closed by then? Should I take him to dr. Again before he leaves? He still can't walk right because it hurts and it has been 2 weeks. Just not sure what to do.
Hi, it appears that it is a mixed infection, and resistant organisms, he needs to have a culture and sensitivity of the discharge, and treatment accordingly. So it always better to postpone his journey if possible. I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe ofloxacin, ornidazole, serratiopeptidase, for complete recovery till the report comes. Thank you.
