Last Thursday My Daughter Was Admitted To The Hospital To
Last Thursday my daughter was admitted to the hospital to deliver. She had a great pregnancy with no complications other than swollen feet the last couple of weeks. She was 90% effaced and dilated 4 cm when her doctor told her to go to the hospital. She was progressing beautifully. When she was 6 or 7 cm the doctor Did an epidural. She was on petocin drip to speed up the process I guess. In minutes after receiving the epidural her right eye became blood red and puffy. We mentioned this to the nurse and asked if she could have had a reaction to the medicines. She said no that she was turned a little and the fluids may have caused it. About 2 hours later, she developed a fever. They gave her Tylenol and told her that if it didn't come down the baby could get a temperature and that would cause stress on her and the baby. About 4 or 5 house passed. The nurses finally got her doctor to check her. The doctor said that the baby was turned face up and that she would have to have a c-section because of the stress that baby and mom was under. They both had temperture. My daughter pushed and pushed before the doctor came in. She developed high blood pressure and they put her on meds for it. It remains too high even on blood pressure meds. She sees her doctor Friday. She is breastfeeding the baby, also. I read the professional info on synthetic petocin. It reads that some have allergic reaction to it and it could cause high blood pressure along with water retention, etc. the list of side affects is long. She didn't feel well today. She looks pale. Do you think she had a reaction to the petocin and epidural? How can she get the toxcities out of her body? And how long will her blood pressure be elevated and have to use meds to bring them down. This was her first baby. She needs to know the answers to these questions to prevent this from happening again. Thanks for reading and answering my questions.
