Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last Wednesday I had a severe kidney stone on the left side the cat scan showed a large 7 mm stone 2 cm from the bladder, I was sent home with pain meds and told to drink lots of water and try to pass the stone. So I did , never see the stone, had a follow up with the urologist Friday, still had a little soreness but urine flow was good, but still hadn’t seen the stone, so he wants to put a stint in my left kidney this Wednesday if I still haven’t passed the stone, it’s now Tuesday morning , no stone, no pain and normal urine flow is normal . My question is if my kidney had been plugged up bad enough to need a stint for a week, wouldn’t I be in a tremendous amount of pain , or burning up with fever from infection??
