Left Hip Sore And Have Painful Knot After A Dive While Playing. Is It A Blood Clot?

two weeks ago, I was playing softball and had to dive back into a base. I have been sore in my left hip every since. It got easier but now I have had a knot raise up on it and it does hurt with some movements. I am wondering what it could be and if it is a blood clot?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
when there is injury like this, blood get collected and swelling develop. In medical language it is called hematoma. it is not very serious thing and it usually absorbed in two to three weeks, since you are already past that time, may be your hematoma is a bigger one or may have some infection. If i would be your treating surgeon than i would prescribe you antibiotics for seven days. Warm water fomentation will also help to decrease swelling.
