Light Headed, Sweating Profusely. Low Potassium Level. Cause?

I have low potassium levels. In September 14, I took a blood test and it was 3.3. My cardiologist put we on a potassium pill to take on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Today at work, I got light headed, sweating profusely, I contacted the doctor and went for a blood test again, Potassium was 2.8. What is causing this problem

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi thank you for asking HCM!
The causes of hypokalemia are:
1. Diarrhoea
2. Profuse sweating
3. Profuse diuresis especially from use of diuretics
4. Use of antibiotics (penicillin gentamicin)
5. Diseases that affect the kidneys' ability to retain potassium (Liddle syndrome,Cushing syndrome, hyperaldosteronism, Bartter syndrome, Fanconi syndrome)

I recomend that you should perform a complet check up especially the renal and endocrine function.
Best regards
