Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my grandmother was hospitalized two months ago for low potassium, electrolyte and something else, and someone told her that since she was defincent on that she only has 5yrs to live. im trying to convince her that her blood test are comming back normal now shes ok and she not convinced, memory and confusion have been messed up since this happened
At this age, low potassium is usually due to drugs or diet. It is transient / easily correctable – once the level is corrected and the cause identified and treated – no problems for the future… There could be other reasons also - for confusion... The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.
Take care Wishing all well God bless Good luck
