Lobulated mucosal thickening in both maxillary sinuses with90 opacifaction of the left maxillary sinus with demineralisation of the upper half of the medial wall including the uncinate process.
There is some thickening of the mucosa over the left superior and middle turbinates but the inferior turbinate and the right sided turbinates have a relatively strophic appearing mucosa.
Mild lobular end mucosal thickening in the right maxillary sinus is present and the infundibulum is patent.
The left ethmoid air cells are partially pacified and there is near complete opacification of the left side of the sphenoid sinus. The frontal sinuses are small but aerated.
Chronic allergic type sinusitis primararily involving left maxillary and ethmoid sinuses.
Yes I've been referred to a specialist but what does all this mean? And what sort of treatment is there?
