Loose Motions In Newborn.
I have delivered 9 days back. My son is passing motions around 15-20 times per day. I donot know what is the cause . Iam just giving breast milk, nothing else. There is no chance of him getting infections ince iam not giving any thing else apart from the milk. Is there any other cause for this. Iam taking lot of hygenic measures.

Newborns on breast feeding tend to pass small amounts of golden yellow stool very frequently. They tend to pass stools with flatus. This is very normal as the newborns do not have control over their anal sphincter. Secondly they have what is known as gastro-colic reflex, meaning that they are going to pass stool as soon as milk goes in their stomach.
If your child is passing urine at least 5-6 times in 24 hours then you need not worry.

What is the color of the motion, the infection can be from any side. Do not presume it not to be infection, any thing can be possible. I am alerting you and not warning. Consult your new born specialist

It can be due to lactose intolerance where the baby is allergic to milk, take him to a pediatrician as early as possible because there will be loss of fluids.

my son had loose motions from birth turned out he was lactose intolerance and cant have any sort of dairy product
