Loss Of Hearing In One Ear Due To Ear Infection. Prescribed Amoxicillin Capsules And Steroid Ear Drops. Can This Clear Up In 2-3 Days Instead Of Advised 2 Weeks?
I have been to see my primary care physician with an ear infection. She prescribed amoxicillin capsules 500 mg 3 times a day and a steroid ear drop 3 times a day. But I was also advised that this might take 2 weeks to clear up. I have lost the hearing in this ear and I don't think I can wait 2 weeks for it to clear up. What is my chances of my hearing coming back earlier. Say 2 - 3 days?

you had CSOM, and given antibiotics and drops for 2 weeks..
you should follow the advice of your doctor for complete recovery..
you have hearing loss?.. wait for 2 weeks, once the ear clears up, see your ENT surgeon for otoscopic examination.. if there is perforated tympanic membrane, you need to undergo surgery of tympanoplasty, hearing will get better.
