Loss Of Taste And Smell. Prescribed Flonase For Nasal Infection. Diagnosed CLL. Suggestions?
I have loss of taste and smell. I was prescribed Flonase for my nasal infection 2 months ago. The infection has not cleared totally but I stopped the Flonase when my taste and smell appeared to be gone. Is it the medication? I was diagnosed having CLL 6 years ago and do know my immune system is not as good. My primary care has told me to take an allergy medicine but has not helped. Do you have a suggestion?
Your query had aware us about your basic disease CLL, and at the mean time you developed loss of smell and taste sensations. Though you have tried flunase inhalor but no lmprovement is there.
It might be possible that you may have some local disease of nose as Atrophic Rhinitis.or there may be polyp in upper third of nasal cavity and may give rise to anosmia.
Loss of taste may be secondary to anosmia. So it will be wise step to consult ENT doctor to rule out any local pathology.
Secondarly CLL may itself effect taste and smell sensation.
Regards.
