Low Heart Rate And HDL Value. Feeling Dizzy. Have Vertigo. Any Heart Problem?
My husband, 52 years old, is having .66 mmol/L HDL with 58 to 65 heart rate. Rest lab result: FBS- normal; triglycerides-normal;ldl-normal; potassium - normal; cholesterol - normal; sgpt - normal. He is often times feeling dizzy and was diagnosed to have vertigo. Is his dizziness related to low hdl? Is he having heart risk?
Hi,
welcome to HCM,
Your husband is having vertigo this is not due to low HDL,as his investigations are normal.
His heart rate is 58 to 65 Beats per minute that should not cause dizziness unless there are episodic more severe bradycardia.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
Labyrinthitis Inflammation of the labyrinth or inner ear,Menieres disease,Vestibular neuritis &
Migraine.
Low HDL is independent risk factor less than 40 mg/dl (1.0 mmol/l). It is possible to increase HDL by regular exercise, taking care of diet, there are some drugs like Nicotinic acid helps but this drug is having side effects better tolerated with sustained release formulation.
Just take care of diet and regular physical exercise and consult a Physician and/or ENT surgeon.
to find out cause of vertigo and treat it.
Take care
Good Luck
