Lower Abdominal Area And Midsection Retaining Water. On Lvothyroxine For Hypothyroidism. Suggestions?
Hello, I am a 45 year old woman and for some odd reason, my lower abdominal area and whole midsection is retaining water constantly for the past 3 months. I had a blood test and my doctor told me it's not menapause just yet. My hormones are fine. I am on Levothyroxine 50 mcg and it's for Hypothyrodism and I'm not sure if that's the cause. I used to have flat abs, now I look like i'm 3 months pregnant. Something is definately wrong with me and even my doctor has no idea. Can you help me out? Thank you so much. My name is Betty.

Hi Thanks for using HCM.
1. Levothyroxine 50 mcg does not cause your problem. 2. 45, no menopause. You can get done one USG abdomen to rule out any internal problem. If it is normal then do abdomen exercise regularly and consult your nutritionist for proper advice on diet. Hope I answered your query.
Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr.Lohit
