Lower Abdominal Pain, Cramping. Diagnosed As Cyst Ruptured, Blood Work Shows Imbalanced Hormones. Anything Serious?

I am a 42 year-old female in relatively good shape (5'3", 135 pounds). I have been having some lower abdominal pain and cramping, so I went to my OBGYN who did a transvaginal ultrasound and found clear fluid behind my uterus. She suggested that I had most likely had an ovarian cyst that ruptured and suggested that I retune in 6-8 weeks if the pain persisted. Other than the light cramping that I experience occassionally, I feel fine. I also had quite a bit of bloodwork done (liver function, hormone check, CBC) and everything was fine other than a few imbalanced hormones. Could this be something more serious?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
You mentioned that cyst rupture and there is collection of blood behind uterus .
This is normal.
As you mentioned that there is hormonal imbalance , but what type of imbalance , please mention it.
Ratio of F S H/L H is very important in cyst cases.
Level of androgen ( testosterone/ androgen ) is an important factor as well as level of estradiol.
Please get in one more ultrasound , so that exact nature of ovarian cyst could be found.
Good luck.
Dr. HET
Fluid in abdomen will re absorb , so don't worry about that.
