Lower Back Pain When Period Is Due, Longer Periods Cycle. Pelvic Ultrasound Shows Bulky Uterus, Adenomyosis. Treatment?
I do experience lower back pain especially when my period is due long period cycle I ve done a pelvis ultrasound a bulky uterus with heterogenous myometrium and indistinct endometrial-myometrial interface and Venetian blind shadowing-soon logical features are suggestive of adenomyosis . Please help me to understand this and what I should do?
Hi, Adenomyosis is the form of endometriosis in the uterus. This can cause the pain you experience as well as pelvic pain during cycles along with excessive bleeding. Establishment of the diagnosis through a trans-vaginal sonogram, MRI and a laparoscopy if indicated and grading of the disease is necessary before planning the management. Use of oral contraceptives along with prostaglandin-inhibitors helps in controlling the pain and excessive bleeding. Hope you find this information helpful. Good luck.
