Lump Formed After Hitting Temple. Had Blurred Vision, Nausea, Lost Balance. Bruise Getting Darker. Sign Of Concussion?
Will my bruise get darker and could i have a concussion?
I am in color guard at my high school and I hit myself very hard with my flag pole one day. I hit myself between the left temple and left eye. As soon as I injured myself, a large goose egg formed and I even split the skin. I immediately had blurred vision, nausea, and loss of balance. I was stumbling around and felt a little out of it for a minute or two. My uncle is a firefighter and has worked as an EMS before and when I approached him afterward he refused to examine me for the signs of a concussion claiming that I was just being a hypochondriac. It's only been a 4 days since i hurt myself and the bruise is already yellow. I am told that it will darker by some people and then others tell me that when it turns yellow, that means its going away. Im not sure what to believe. Help please?
You have an open injury. Due to this your are prone for secondary bacterial infection. A good wound care is needed. If it turns yellow it means pus formation. Consult your doctor and get it drained. Follow it with a course of antibiotic.
