Lump In Armpit, spinal Fluid Drain Into The Armpit, Severe Osteoporasis. What Might Have Caused This?
My 89-old grandmother recently had a lump in her armpit drained. The drainage came back that it was spinal fluid. She also had two verterbrae in her neck that are cracked and two discs are compressed. They have told her she has severe osteoporosis , which a bone density scan a couple of years ago did not show. Is it normal for osteoporosis to set in and get that bad sofast? How would spinal fluid drain into the armpit? What do you think could have caused this and do you think the prognosis could be good?
It is unusual to have spinal fluid in a drained arm pit swelling. A detailed evaluation is necessary in this regard. It is practically impossible to predict the prognosis without knowing the cause for the above.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
