Lump Near Collarbone After Taking Flu Shot. Worried
Hi, i had a flu shot on Tuesday and on Thursday afternoon i noticed a lump near my collarbone. it moves around a lot. it is on the same side i got the shot. it was a bit painful at first but now it is not paining at all. it just feels a bit soft and kinda slides on and off my collar bone. i am very worried. what could this be?
Thanks for your query. Most likely, this is an inflamed lymph node, what people call "a gland", as a normal consequence of the vaccination; these nodes serve as "factories" to prepare immune cells against newly encountered antigens, in this case the flu vaccine. Monitor for resolution within the next 4 weeks.
Hope that helps, wish you the best,
