Lump Near The Thumb. Could It Be From Playing Hockey? Had A Carpal Fracture In The Past. Chances Of Dislocation?
when i bend my wrist forward palm down i have a bump that protrudes closer to my thumb side of my wrist, i am sure it is from hockey when i was checked my wrist was bent the same way fast and violently causing me alot of pain at the time, i was told by a doc thta it could be a carpal fracture but it came back when i had woke up the other day. the initial injury was a few years ago im thinking it was initially a dislocation rather than a fracture and thats why it is reoccurring with little stress. it feels like it needs to pop like a finger knuckle before you crack it. it hurts to bend backwards when i attempt pushups but not when pressure ios applied to my hand in a linear fashion to the wrist. any help would be appreciated it seems to me like a dislocation and not a fracture. Thanks, nick
Hello Nick, Since you already have had a carpal fracture in the past, I would recommend a X ray of your wrist and hand for further confirmation. It could also be a ganglion cyst which is appearing as a lump. If X rays are normal, ganglion cyst can be diagnosed on an ultrasound scan. Hope this helps.
