Lump On Chin, Sore Throat, Night Sweats, Fatigue, Vertigo, Memory Issues. Done Thyroid Ultrasound And T Panel Blood Work. Help

I have a large painful lump under my chin and left jaw the size of a golf ball. Painful to move neck and head. Throat is sore on the left side off and on for months, throat gets tight and feels like there's a lump when I swallow. Hoarseness comes and goes. Painful to sing - I'm an elementary school teacher, by the way. What could the huge lump be? Recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic, severe fatigue for a month or so, I have night sweats every night, occasional painful muscle spasms of anterior lower left neck. Recent thyroid ultrasound and T-panel blood work normal. Had SAH in February from a motorcycle accident. Still experiencing vertigo and speech and memory problems from the TBI. What could this lump be? Should I see an ENT Dr?

hello and welcome to HCM,

I will try to analyze your problems one by one

About the painful lump you need to take a course of antibiotic like amoxycillin-clavulanate 625 twice daily for five days and if that does not help you need to undergo FNAC and CT in the neck and get back to me with the report. Your doctor will know about the medications.

About the painful singing, you may be developing a nodule which is very common in teachers and pain on vocal strain is one of the commonest symptoms of the same. You need to get an analyses with endoscopy and also with a speech therapist and get back to me with the reports.

Your diabetes since is recently diagnosed you will definitely have some amount of fatigue in the initial phase as it takes time to get a good control and get used to the medications. Give it around one to two months and do not worry. If you still feel unwell then meet an Endocrinologist.

The SAH can cause vertigo and speech problems but it is advisable to undergo a CT of the brain and temporal bone or the ear to evaluate the same.

Hope your problems get settled, Get back to me with the reports whenever possible

regards
