Lump On Leg Above Calf. Redness And Swelling On Top. Having Crohn's Disease, Diabetes And And Fibromyalgia. Concerned?
Good afternoon...I am contacting in regard to a knot or lump that appeared on my lower inside of my leg...right above my calf. I noticed it approximately one week ago...and today I noticed there is redness and swelling on top of the knot...I have Chron;s disease, diabetes, ostenopia (sp), and fybromialgia (sp). I wasn't sure if this would be helpful...should I be concerened with the knot/lump. Thanks my email is YYYY@YYYY .
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. The lump ( swelling ) over the calf muscle may be , 1 carbuncle as you are having diabetes and many more diseases but you didn't mention the exact blood sugar level which is very important in this case. 2 Cellulitis , this may be due to uncontrolled diabetes as you are complaining that there is redness , so this indicate that there is infection. In my opinion please consult your treating diabetologist and get his opinion . Good luck. Dr. HET
