Lump On Neck, Spreading, Thalassemia, Two Lumps In Stomach. Treatment?
MY 4 YEAR OLD SON DEVELOPED A HARD LUMP ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS NECK ABOUT A WEEK AGO. SINCE THEN IT HAS SPREAD AROUND HIS NECK. WE TOOK HIM TO OUR GP AND AFTER WE DID A FEW BLOOD TEST , SHE DIAGNOSED HIM WITH THALASSEMIA AND ASKED US TO TAKE HIM FOR X RAYS. TODAY WE TOOK HIM FOR XRAYS AND THERE WERE TWO OF THESE LUMPS IN HIS STOMACH . HOWEVER THE NURSE SAID THAT IT WAS HIGHLY UNLIKELY FOR HIM TO HAVE THALASSEMIA AS NO ONE IN BOTH MINE AND MY WIFES FAMILY HAS THIS PROBLEM AND IT USUALLY IS PASSED DOWN FROM FAMILY MEMBERS. KINDLY ADVISE
good evening to you...The lumps in the neck of your son could be lymph node swelling..Your son will have to do a few blood tests,if required the lumps may need to be biopsied...I would advise you not to delay anymore.Take your son to a paediatrician..He will guide you further..
