i have what appears to be an infected hair maybe, on my throat . It s a lump and occassionaly pus comes out but it s been there for deveral month and wont go away.
When you say it is on your throat, I assume you mean on the skin of your neck. You may in fact, have MRSA, which is a staph infection and this needs to be evaluated.
Depending on the size of the lump, Bactroban ointment could be used (for smaller abscesses) or you may need an incision and drainage.
You did not state if it was getting bigger or not.
Use Dial antibacterial soap or Hibiclens, which you can get from a drug store and cost more than dial soap, in the shower. This will cut down on the bacterial count.
I would advise going to a physician, antibiotics may be needed or it may need surgical drainage. An infection lasting this long may be an abscess and this is what may need drainage.
Be well, Dr. Kimberly

Lumps And Pus Coming Out From Hair And Throat
HI: Thank you for your question. But someone needs to see it.
