Lung Cancer, Removed Mid Right Lobe, Weakness, Diarrhea. On Chemotherapy, Taking Terceva. Prognosis?
My father in law has Lung Cancer . They removed his mid right lobe, and he did chemo after. The cancer came back in the same lung and it seems to be spreded to the right lung too. Limph nodes not afected. He is on Terceva now. Feeling very weak, diharrea, vomiting . He his hospitalized right now for what it seems to be deshydration. What can we expect? Can he recover from cancer at this point? What is his life expectancy? Thanks
HI, Thanks for your query, recurrence in lung cancer is not an uncommon feature. Taking terceva means he has a special type of lung cancer which has little bit better prognosis by taking this drug. present symptom may be due to the drug or simple intestinal infection. He will be ok after rehydration therapy. Exact prognosis needs exact staging of the disease....
best wishes
