Hello,
I am a
radiologist with 10 years experience and will be answering your question.
M.R.I Findings (as mentioned by you):
1. Preserved Lumbar Lordosis: Normal curvature of lower spine is maintained.
2. Normal Sagittal diameter of the bony lumbar spinal canal: The spinal canal (through which the spinal cord passes) is normal.
3. Normal bone marrow signal intensity of the scanned lumbar vertebaral bodies and their neural arches: No bome marrow problems in the
lumbar vertebrae.
4. Reduced T2 bright signal intensity of L1/L2 and L5/S1 discs denoting their degeneration: Degenerative changes at discs at those levels (loss of water content in them).
5. L1/L2 and L5/S1 mild diffuse posterior disc bulge seen indenting the ventral aspect of thecal sac: Mild bulges seen in the discs at those levels where they are pushing the thecal sac (covering of the spinal cord) backwards.
6. Right L5/S1 facet joint osteoarthropathy: Degenerative change in the jint between vertebrae L5 S1 on right side.
7. Normal appearance of the conus medullaries No paraspinal abonormality: Normal findings.
8. Radiology Report: Exaggerated lumbar lordosis Lumbar spondylodegenerative changes with
marginal osteophytes formation. Intact vertebral body heights and
intervertebral disc spaces No pars defects,
spondylolysis or
spondylolisthesis could be detected Lt. hemisacralization of L5 vertebaral body Multiple abdominal calcifications are noted.
Report:
In simple words there are few degenerative change in your
lumbar spine at levels L1 L2 and L5 S1. Nothing serious to worry about at the moment.
Hope this helps.
