MRI Shows Flattening Of Spinal Cord. Have Sarcoid. History Of Car Accident. Have Numbness And Burning Feet. Any Thoughts?
C2-C7 OPLL diagnosis . AP diameter5.5mm central canal stenois . I have 5 pages from the MRI- CT Cervical. Disco osteophytic . Flattening of the spinal cord at C2-C3 Bone spurs at -C4-C5 an flattening and impingement at C6-C7. So many words in here I don't even know where to start and don't know what half of them mean. I have Sarcoid since 1993 have done many blocks since 2009 no relief. I had a rear car collision that was pretty bad. They never put me in a collar or even said I had whip lash even with the pain I was experiencing. I now have numbness left side, and numbness burning in feet and shins. Its been awful. It has gonna worse over the last couple of years. I go see a nero a UAB in the next few weeks. My first nero said he was not qualified for this type of surgery. I'm scared. They are talking about going through the front and not back. I do have moderate disk degenerative disease. 50 yr old female. obese in size. I wish I could send all this info to someone. too much typing! Any thoughts out of all this?????? Tammy
I have studied your case. Due to compression of this nerve root there is tingling numbness in your arm and pain associated with it.
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
If nerve compression becomes severe later on then surgical decompression will give permanent relief.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
