MRI Suggests Removal Of Hernia Mesh. What Are The Outcomes Of Removing Mesh?
Hi, I have had 2 ct scans 1 MRI, my G.I. Doctor recommends I have Hernia mesh removed. Causing me alot of pain. Been going on for 3 months of constant pain. 11/4/2013 had scar tissue removed that was building up around my small colon. My pain has not gotten any better, actually worse. What outcomes are you aware of having mesh removed and not putting another mesh in. G.I. doctor wants mesh out and have skin pulled tightly to keep hernia secure. Your opinion or suggestions welcomed.

MRI Suggests Removal Of Hernia Mesh. What Are The Outcomes Of Removing Mesh?
Dear Mr. Kluin, Greetings! Welcome to Healthcare-Magic. Please note the only few indications for hernia mesh removal are 1. Infection of the mesh 2. Exteriorization of mesh from the plane. Kindly discuss with yOur surgeon that pain in your case is due to infection or displaced mesh. Coming to your question of after effect of mesh removal is mainly recurrence of hernia at that site. Kindly do get back to me for further assistance if required. Wishing you good health. Take care. Best regards, Dr. T. Shobha Deepak MBBS, MD
