Medical History Of Pruritis Nodlularis. Now Has Reoccurred In Legs, Arms. Can't Pick, It Gets Sore, Turns Black. Cure For Symptoms?

I have a skin condition that I've had since last May. I have been to 2 dermatologists and been prescribed 2 different kinds of ointments that haven't helped. I had this condition about 25 years ago it was pruritis nodlularis . It eventually went a way on its on. This time its more widespread particulary on my legs and arms. It seems to have a core in it but you can't pick it out and it gets real sore and turns the skin around it black. I dislike going to doctors who don't seem to have a clue of what's going on or even curious as to what's going on. But it is really bad now and I have been told that stress is factor in this condition. The last RX is triamcinolone acetonide ointment

Hi .

thanks for writing here.

Prurigo nodularis is a chronic skin condition .It is related to stress ,but treatment regimen is different.

There are many other options available for treatments ,I will just mention their names ,You need to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options and take treatment accordingly.

Treatment modaliteis

1.Potent topical steroid cream like halobetasol under occlusion.

2.Intralesional injection of triamcilone with liquid nitrogen

3.Narrow band therapy.

4.Dapsone,thalidomide.

These are some routinely used treatments with good results ,so you can go for it.

I hope this can solve your problem.Take care.
