Medicine To Cure Colitis
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Colitis refers to inflammation of the inner lining of the colon. It is caused by: 1. Infection, for example, caused by bacteria like C difficile, viruses, and parasites 2. Inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis 3. Ischemic colitis caused by decreased blood supply 4. Microscopic colitis (lymphocytic/collagenous colitis) 5. Allergic reactions Before treatment, we have to confirm the cause for it. Please consult your doctor who will examine and do colonoscopy, treat accordingly. Don t eat pulses and roti (bread) until you meet the doctor. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
