Mediterranean Diet Helps Live Longer? Canadian Diet, Junk Food And Meat Included, Leads To Less Life Expectancy?
How is it that the mediterrean diet helps people live longer but except for Monaco where people live up t0 89 and San Morino, the average age of death is about the same for mediterrean people as it is for people in Canada who eat a lot of meat as well as junk food? The average age of death in Canada is close to 82 years.
- balanced diet (low fat, high protein and adequate calorie in recommended proportions) along with adequate/recommended requirements of vitamins + essential elements.
- Regular exercises; maintenance of ideal body weight; avoidance of excess salt intake; avoidance of junk foods, aerated drinks; alcohol in moderation; regular health check ups; regular control over blood pressure (if any); and, keep mental stress at bay.
- Mediterranean diet is closer to balanced diet, as compared to other parts of the world. Local/ethnic dietary habits play a great role in determining longevity.
