Merina Coil Fitted. Having Bloody Mucus Discharge After Sex, Nipple Discharge. Pregnancy Test Negative. Side Effects Of Coil?
Hi i have recently started having pregnancy symptoms with a merina coil that was fitted 8 months ago. i have never had a period since having it fitted. Iv started to have bloody mucus discharge after sex. My areola greenwood has got larger and there is discharge from the nodules around the nipples. Are these just side effects from the coil or am i goin crazy . Iv done 2 or three tests that have come back negative.
Hi, Thanks for the query. While using mirena side effects can be seen. Some amount of menstrual irregularity can be there. Some may have intermenstrual spotting and some may have complete amenorrhea etc. Discharge from nipple is a rare side effect of mirena. If the symptoms persist, consult gynecologist once and get examined to rule out the possibility of vaginal infection. And check for prolactin levels once. If everything is normal, no need to worry. Possibly the symptoms will subside soon, meanwhile you can take symptomatic treatment. If symptoms persist or become severe, you may have to change the contraceptive measure. Take care.
