Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had a dog leash whip around when my dog was running and it wrapped my ankle and the metal buckle at the end smacked my ankle and from of foot in sanders The pain when it happens was intense but I was able to walk. 10 minutes later it stopped. I noticed the next day I noticed my ankle and top of foot were numb but there is no pain walking and no bruises. I can move my toes and foot. U do get a twinge like nerve feeling when I flex my foot but it doesn t hurt. Should I see a doctor.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it seems to be a soft tissue injury involving the nerve. Since all the movements of the foot are restored, the minor numbness that you are having is likely to recover spontaneously in 2 weeks without any treatment.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
