Hi I have a mettalic tast in my mouth especailly when i rub my tongue over my lips the back of my throat is very red on the right hand side and there is a small white spot. My throat is not causing me any discomfort. However my tongue does feel slightly tingly and the taste is odd. Before christmas i had a really bad flu, then i got over it, and had a 24 hour sick bug, and then last week i had the flu really bad again. Do you think i could just be run down?
This is nothing unusual, you are perfectly normal. Drink plenty of water, as well try taking fresh fruits and vegetables. Any more doubts you are welcome.
My comment didn't post so let me type it again. I had similar symptoms and it was Thrush. It took forever to get rid of even though I was taking Diflucan and a prescription mouth rinse. If you still have it, ask your doctor to check you for Thrush.
Feeling of metallic taste can occur due to various reasons. It may be following flu, vitamins and zinc deficiency, tooth fillings, people undergoing dialysis, etc. Whatever was mentioned before by me was answer to the above query. If you are not improving you must get a thorough check-up done by a good ENT specialist.
