Mild Cramping, Menopausal, Vaginal Atrophy, Vestibular Pain. Prescribed Estradiol. How To Apply?
My doctor prescribed Estradiol 2 mg topical cream conjugated in vitamin E oil. Directions state put a small amount on vaginal vestibular area twice a day. My question is: what is a "small amount"? No applicator came with the cream. Also, I have been feeling mild cramping and am not sure if this is because of Replens use or a normal symptom of vaginal atrophy/dryness. I am menopausal, still have my uterus, and have been diagnosed with vaginal atrophy. I have not been able to have intercourse for 5 months because of pain in vestibular area. I tear easily.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. Estradiol is a vaginal estrogen topical preparation to help with the vaginal dryness specially in post menopausal women. You can use a pea size amount of it every night before going to bed. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
