Mild Testicular Discomfort, Epididymis Swollen. On Treatment. Guide Through Diagnosis And Treatment
hello sir i am an intern 23yr old virgin n have been having mild testicular discomfort since 4hrs there is no severe pain as such on examination i found that my epididymis of left side is swollen n tender with scrotal skin same as surrounding n No testicular tenderness, no haematuria no burning micturition no loin pain afebrile i have already started the treatment with.... inj ceftriaxone 250mg im stat plus tab doxycycline 100mg BD (10days) n also added ofloxacin BD (10days) pls guide me through the diagnosis n treatment am i doing it write? as they say antibiotic regimen is started only if we suspect STD but am still a virgin i have not undergone circumcision
Hi Antibiotics should be given in infections like Epididymo orchitis,UTI. You should take an ultrasound of scrotum to confirm epididymitis. After confirmation you can start Antibiotics. Till then,please take single antibiotic Ofloxacin and anti inflammatory drug. Consult a Urologist and proceed. Regards
