Molluscum Contagiosum Bumps In The Pubic Area. Tried Liquid Nitrogen. Reddish Marks And Scabs Present. Will It Spread?
I recently went to the doctor with six or so molluscum contagiosum bumps on my pubic area. The doctor froze them off with liquid nitrogen a week ago, but there are still red marks, scabs from where they were. Can they still be spread once they have been frozen off? My girlfriend and I are wondering how long we should wait before having sex, as the scabs are in places a condom would not cover, and we don't want to spread the bumps to her. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Jay Patel's Response
Hi,
The removal of the molluscum contagiosum with liquid nitrogen is one of the common mode of removal, but a blister may form at the treatment site, but it will slough off in two to four week.
For the sex you can start performing, just take care not to scratch the blister or make it burst.
Hope it helps Dr. JAY PATEL.
