Muffled Noise In Ear After Blowing Air Hose In Ear

Hi I was cleaning myself of at work with an air hose and accidentally blew my ear which was loud. Next morning my ear was making a muffled noise kinda like when you have water in your ear but I didn t get water in it. It doesn t hurt but the muffled noise is annoying. Hearing is clear but muffles when I swallow or lay down and get up.

Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regarding muffled voice in your ear following trauma to ear by air hose which was loud enough.

By considering your complaints and analysing the facts it appears that most probably your ear drum had ruptured but need not to worry. Such perforations are healing very fast. You have to follow these-

(a) Keep your ear clean and dry don't put any ear drop or oil.

(b) Antibiotic- Take Amoxicillin (625 mg) thrice daily.

(c) Mucolytic and decongestant.

(d) Steam inhalation.

I hope this will help you. If unfortunately you don't get relief than you have to consult your ENT doctor for investigations and treatment.

Regards.
