Muscle Fatigue, Mild Pain In The Area Of Dog Bite, Took Antibiotics, Getting Worse. Is It Delayed Infection ?
A neighbors dog bit me 7 1/2 weeks ago. I received treatment at the E.R. including an MMR shot and 10 days of oral antibiotics. The wounds were pretty substantial but healed well. However, I have recently been having muscle fatigue and mild pain in the area of the worst bite. It is getting progressively worse. Can this be a delayed infection or could it have damaged the muscle?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The symptoms that you have 7 weeks after the dog bite are not likely to be due to the viral infection like rabies. This is more likely to be due to a local tissue injury and a bacterial infection in the area. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
