Muscular Pain Near Clavicle While Coughing, Pain Radiating. Underlying Cause?
I have muscular pain near my clavicle when I cough. It seems like the scalene muscles, but the pain radiates into my pectoralus minor, too. I d like to know if these muscles are commonly pulled from deep and persistent coughing (like with acute bronchitis), and if so, where may I find information on how to rehabilitate them?

Hello, Thanks for writing to us
The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain. Any strained muscle when stretched gives severe pain.
I advice you to follow the below mentioned guidelines -
* Give adequate rest to the involved muscle group and avoid any movement that causes pain * Ice packing once in every 2 hours over the affected area * Moist heat application to relax the muscles * Local application of muscle relaxant gel * Analgesic medications as needed If your symptoms are not getting better with the above measures, I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation and management.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any more concern.
